Dortmund Reignite Interest in Jadon Sancho with €20M Move on the Table
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in internal discussions to bring Jadon Sancho back to Germany on a permanent deal from Manchester United, according to Sky Sport Germany. The Bundesliga giants are said to be preparing a formal offer in the region of €18–20 million for the 25-year-old winger.
Sancho, who spent the second half of the 2023–24 season on loan at Dortmund, played a key role in the club’s journey to the UEFA Champions League final. Despite his strong showing, he returned to Manchester United at the end of the season, where he remains on the transfer list and continues to train away from the first-team squad due to an unresolved rift with manager Erik ten Hag.
Chelsea, who briefly explored a permanent deal after his successful loan spell, reportedly pulled out after failing to reach an agreement on personal terms. Meanwhile, Juventus have suspended their pursuit of Sancho due to financial concerns.
Sancho enjoyed a stellar first stint at Dortmund, registering an impressive 109 goal contributions in 125 appearances between 2017 and 2021. The club’s renewed Champions League qualification and recent player sales have improved their financial position, potentially making a return feasible despite earlier caution in the summer window.
However, wage negotiations remain a significant hurdle. Manchester United covered half of Sancho’s salary during his most recent loan, and a permanent transfer would likely require the England international to agree to a substantial pay cut.
As talks progress behind closed doors, Dortmund fans will be watching closely to see if the club can pull off what would be a sensational return for one of their former stars.
