Drama in Ekiti as Ayo Fayose Wears PDP Cap to APC Rally, Sparks Defection Rumours

In a surprising twist that has set tongues wagging across Nigeria’s political space, former Ekiti State governor and prominent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) figure, Ayo Fayose, made an unexpected appearance at an All Progressives Congress (APC) rally while wearing his PDP cap.

The rally, held in Ado-Ekiti, was organized to show support for Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Tension rippled through the crowd when Fayose was spotted arriving at the event, clad in unmistakable PDP-branded headwear. The surprise escalated when he was invited to the stage and warmly welcomed by the cheering APC supporters.

Despite his presence at the APC rally, Fayose reaffirmed his allegiance to the PDP, firmly stating that he has no intention of joining the ruling party.

“Wearing my PDP cap here does not mean I have defected,” he reportedly said, adding that his support for good governance transcends party lines.

The move has sparked a flurry of speculation on social media and among political analysts, with many questioning the significance of his appearance and whether it signals a broader shift in political alliances ahead of the 2027 elections.
