DRAWING GOVT’S ATTENTION TO MY PEOPLE’S NEEDS REMAINS A DESIRE—REP NNAMCHI
The member representing Enugu East and Isi Uzo Federal Constituency of Enugu State in the House of Representatives, Honourable Professor Paul Nnamchi has stated that it would always be his desire to bring the attention of the government to the needs of his people.
Professor Nnamchi who made the observation when the people of Agu-Amede Community in Isi Uzo paid him a thank you visit in his country home at Ako-Nike, Enugu East Local Government Area assured his guests that he would continue offer the constituency quality representations in the National Assembly.
The Labour Party parliamentarian said he was touched by the appreciations and the solidarity from constituents across the various communities in Enugu East/Isi Uzo Federal Constituency also declared that, “he feels more obliged than ever to speak at all time to bring the attention of the government to the needs of his constituents.”
He expressed concerns about the prevalent security challenges in some parts of the constituency and pledged to continue to do whatever possible to complement what the State Government was doing to tackle the problems of insecurity in the constituency and entire Enugu State.
Speaking earlier, the Igwe-elect of Agu-Amede Hiis Royal Highness, Odo Igwurube John who led the delegation of his people both home and abroad on the thank you/solidarity visit lauded the efforts of Rep Nnamchi to give the constituency a voice in the National Assembly.
His Royal Highness further stressed his community’s debt of gratitude to Professor Nnamchi for the award of scholarships to indigent students of the community adding that the gesture was highly commendable.
He also used the occasion of the visit to request him to use his position in the parliament to help address the challenges of road infrastructure confronting the community which according to him was restraining the security personnel in accessing most of troubled villages in Agu-Amede.
The delegation included the President-General of Agu-Amede Autonomous Community, Odo Michael Benson, and the diaspora chairman, Agu-Amede Development Union, Michael Benson. Other prominent sons include; Chief Leonard ozibo (the Onowu),Edeh David Nnabuike, (labour party chairman) and chief odo Alphonsus Ofo among others.
