Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru Demands Justice for 13 Indigenes Killed in Anambra Attack.

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has condemned the brutal killing of 13 Ebonyi indigenes in Anambra State, vowing to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

The victims were reportedly attacked by unidentified gunmen in Ogboji, a community in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State, on Sunday evening.

Reacting to the incident on Tuesday night, Governor Nwifuru, through his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, described the attack as a heinous crime and a direct assault on peace, unity, and the sanctity of human life.

“This barbaric act has no place in a civilized society,” he stated. “Every available tool of the state will be deployed to uncover those behind this gruesome killing.”

Governor Nwifuru expressed confidence in the commitment of Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo and security agencies to investigate the incident and ensure justice is served.

“I am hopeful that the Anambra State Government and relevant security bodies will act swiftly to apprehend the criminals behind this tragedy,” he said.

While investigations are ongoing, the governor appealed for calm among Ebonyi indigenes, especially the affected families and communities, urging them to avoid reprisals or actions that could escalate tensions.

He assured citizens that the Ebonyi State Government remains steadfast in its duty to protect lives and property, both within the state and among its citizens residing elsewhere.

“This administration is fully committed to safeguarding all Ebonyi people, at home and in the diaspora,” Governor Nwifuru affirmed.
