Eke Community Distances Itself from False Claims to Transit Estate Ownership
…. Thanks Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Enugu State Housing Development Corporation for accepting to use the lands donated to them by the community.
The people of Eke community in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State, Nigeria, have expressed their gratitude to the Government of Enugu State and the Enugu State Housing Development Corporation for accepting their donation of land for the establishment of a housing estate, specifically a transit estate.
The community made this known on Saturday through a press statement signed by the President General of Eke Town Union, Hon Okwudiri John and Ichie Agu Joseph, Chairman of Amofia Eke Community, who is also a member of the Ìgwè’s cabinet, his Royal Highness, Ìgwè Chinwendu Onuoha, Ezeoha 1 of Eke,.
They stated that, the land, which belongs to the Amofia-Eke Village , is expected to bring about significant development and enhance security in the region, when properly utilised for the construction of Transit Estate by the State Government .
They posited that, the land between two major roads conventionally belongs to the government, which is known to everybody and thus, challenged anyone claiming ownership of the old road or the road leading to Akama Oghe and its axis, to produce official documents, such as survey plans, to back up their claims.
They also urged the general public to be wary of individuals who are causing trouble by falsely claiming ownership of the land.
The Eke community leaders also expressed their gratitude to Governor Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah of Enugu State as well as Enugu State Housing Development Corporation, for their support and commitment to the development of the region, thus, calling on the security agencies, to be vigilant and curb the activities of those causing trouble in the area.
According to them “The people of Eke community in Udi local Government Area of Enugu State, thank the Enugu State Government and Enugu State Housing Development Corporation for accepting to make use of the lands, which the community donated to them, for the purpose of establishing a housing estate, precisely, a transit estate.
The area we gave to the corporation belongs to the Amofia – eke.
The coming of the corporation into our soil will herald development and curb insecurity in that geographical terrain.
We are very much aware that some miscreants who cherish disunity and underdevelopment are currently laying claims to the ownership of the land.
We wish to state categorically that, we are not behind such moves either by an individual, group or family.
Anyone claiming ownership of the old road or the road leading to Akama Oghe and its axis, which is the ingress and egress into our land as well as the transit estate, is a wishful thinker, joker, and co-traveler.
Conventionally, lands between 2 major roads belong to the Government.
We hereby challenge and call on anyone, parading his, herself, family or group as the owners of the road and its appurtenance, to produce any official documents possibly, the survey plans to back up his/her /their claims.
We once again, call on the general public, to beware of those “rustling village bullies, litigants, and detractors parading themselves as the owners of the land, thereby, fermenting troubles as the community did not send them.
We urge the security agencies to be vigilant on their nefarious activities.
“Thanks Ndị Enugu, Thanks the Governor of Enugu State, Barr Peter Ndubuisi Mbah”
“Tomorrow is here”
Signed..
Hon Okwudiri John, The President General of Eke Town Union.
Ichie Agu Joseph, Chairman of Amofia Eke Community and also a member ìgwè in Council, his Royal highness, ìgwè Chinwendu Onuoha, Ezeoha 1 of Eke.”
