El-Rufai Declares Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Bid Impossible Amid Economic, Political Woes

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has strongly stated that President Bola Tinubu stands no chance of winning re-election in 2027 due to Nigeria’s current economic and political challenges.

Speaking during an interview on Social Democratic Party (SDP) national updates—later shared online by user @chude—El-Rufai said it is unrealistic to expect Tinubu to secure another term.

“Anyone who believes President Bola Tinubu can be re-elected must be living outside Nigeria. His re-election is out of the question. I don’t see how it could happen, regardless of how disorganised the opposition may be.

Who is going to vote for him? That’s my personal view,” El-Rufai remarked.Despite El-Rufai’s stance, the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the National Assembly have expressed their full support for Tinubu, passing a vote of confidence in his leadership.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio asserted that Tinubu will return as president, emphasizing his status as the party’s sole candidate.

Similarly, APC governors reaffirmed their endorsement of Tinubu as the party’s flagbearer during a recent summit in Abuja.
