Emotional Chef Dammy Responds to Trolls After Receiving Multiple Abusive DMs
Nigerian chef Damilola Adeparusi, popularly known as Chef Dammy, has issued a strong warning to critics flooding her social media with hateful messages, following backlash she received after giving a short speech at a recent event.
The chef, who gained national attention during her 2023 Guinness World Record attempt, revealed that her DMs were filled with insults and demeaning comments from people who mocked her personality, career, and past controversies.
Chef Dammy explained that although she was only asked to speak briefly about herself at the event, many attendees and online users twisted her words and used the moment to attack her character.
In a video addressing the situation, she said:
“If you want to insult me, do it in the comment section, not in my DMs.”
The young chef disclosed that she received hurtful messages like “Werey” a Yoruba expression meaning “mad person” among other offensive remarks.
Reflecting on her journey, Chef Dammy admitted that such attacks used to break her down emotionally, but she has now grown stronger and refuses to let negativity define her.
She added that many of her critics do not truly know who she is today, and therefore their opinions hold little importance.
The chef also shared her observation that online bullies often project personal frustrations onto others:
“The way they behave online often reflects problems at home. Their anger says more about them than it does about me.”
Her emotional video, where she almost broke down in tears after receiving eight hateful DMs in a short time, has sparked empathy across social media as fans call for kindness and restraint online.
