Enugu NAUS Chairman brutalize, threaten to be killed by University Security officer

The Chairman National Association of University students in Enugu state,Rt. Comrade Onu Ogbonna Anthony, popularly known as Cee Wisdom faces brutalization and humiliation by Enugu State University of science and Technology, Security personnel allegedly drunk.

The incident which happened on Monday evening in the school premises was revealed to Journalist by the victim .

While speaking with Journalist He stated that as He was heading to school to meet with the security officers (Strike Force) at the Entrepreneurship building where they are based. I was driving my bike towards there, and one security officer known as Onyeoma raised a cutlass against me, shouting “Park, park” I told him I came to see the security personnel.

After meeting with one of the security officers, I was driving out when the same officer raised his cutlass again. I stopped and told him, “Raising a cutlass like this isn’t good; someone with high blood pressure could die or collapse.”

He got offended, asking what right I had to correct him. He started assaulting me, slapping me to come down from my bike. I did, and he continued assaulting me until other officers intervened, holding him back.

Instead of stopping, he threatened to take my life, saying, “If I had a gun, I would have killed you; that is why Iam not given a gun. Iam a killer.” He threatened to stab me with the cutlass.

He then called the Chief Security Officer, feeding him false information that I was harassing him. The CSO told him to confiscate my bike and arrest me until other officers intervened and stated the facts.

I appreciate Students Union President Comrade Nwodo Zara and other student leaders for their immediate response. They reacted to the incident, stating that those meant to protect us are causing damage and intimidation. If a student leader was humiliated like this, what’s the fate of a year-one student?Wisdom said .

The victim and other students urge the school management for swift intervention and disciplinary action against the security officer.
