Eruku Rejoices as 38 CAC Members Abducted During Church Service Are Safely Released
A heartwarming video from Eruku community has gone viral, capturing residents celebrating the safe return of 38 members of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) who were abducted during a church service on Tuesday, November 18.
The worshippers were taken by suspected bandits while attending a regular service, sending shockwaves across Kwara State and sparking nationwide concern for their safety.
The captives spent five harrowing days in captivity before being released, bringing immense relief to their families and the community. While the release has been welcomed, questions remain as to why the bandits involved have not yet been apprehended.
In the celebratory footage shared by X user Chuks, community members can be seen singing traditional Yoruba songs and praising God, particularly honoring Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola, the founder of CAC. Women prominently led much of the joyful gathering, expressing gratitude for the safe return of the abducted worshippers.
The Eruku community’s relief is a testament to faith and resilience, highlighting both the ongoing security challenges and the collective joy that comes with the safe return of loved ones.
