Esther Okoronkwo Hat-Trick Fires AFC Toronto into NSL Final
Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo delivered a sensational performance to guide AFC Toronto into the inaugural Northern Super League (NSL) final.
Her three quick goals in the first half set the tone for a 4-1 victory over the Montreal Roses at a snow-covered York Lions Stadium.
Okoronkwo’s clinical finishing gave Toronto an early advantage, allowing the team to dominate possession and dictate the pace of the match.
Her speed, precision, and awareness on the pitch were evident, as she connected seamlessly with teammates to create multiple scoring opportunities.
“The team’s effort was incredible today,” Okoronkwo said. “I was able to find the net early, but it was the coordination and support from my teammates that made the difference.”
Toronto coach Marko Milanović praised Okoronkwo’s consistency and leadership on the field.
“Esther brings energy and focus to every game. She inspires the team and performs when it matters most. Today was a perfect example of her impact.”
Lauren Rowe added the fourth goal late in the second half, while Montreal grabbed a consolation strike, leaving the final score at 4-1.
