The office of the Senate Majority Leader, Students Union Government, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, is set to host a one-day conference on December 3rd at Julius Ona Auditorium.

The event, themed “Student Leaders: Catalysts of Sustainable Political Milieu in Nigeria,” aims to equip student leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to become effective leaders in society.

According to the Majority Leader Sen.Chiekezie Emmanuel, He positioned that his office is preparing for a Leadership Summit, which is coming up on December 3rd, 2025. The Leadership Program is all about capturing the young ones and the students, bringing resourceful individuals who have graduated from ESUT and are already in the field, to come and equip and give them knowledge of what leadership is all about.

People keep saying bad leaders are in Nigeria; meanwhile, good leaders may not still come from future leaders. He believes that in the next 10 to 15 years, the current leaders will not be in position; it will be them. They are the young ones who are leaders of tomorrow, and now is a perfect time, and this is the right time to capture them, so when the time comes, they can do well and be resourceful in society.

An adage says, “If you want to know the road, follow and ask those who have traveled the same road.” So, his aim is to bring student leaders, political leaders, and resourceful leaders from outside and inside to come and tell them what leadership entails, so they can follow up and do good in society.

That day, they are expecting resourceful people like Honorable Member representing Ezeagu Constituency, Hon. Chima Obieze, Hon. Williams Amuka, Member representing Igbo-etiti West, and people from NANS Body, who are the apex student leaders.

He further stated that they are expecting the NANS Vice President of External Affairs, Kenechukwu Aneke, Finfoluwa Tegbe, NANS National Director of Empowerment, and Timothy Nnamani, the founder of Youth Awakening Development Initiative (YADI), and also from his department, Hon.Dr. Ekwe, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Enugu State on Speech Writing, Hon. Amuka ACJ and Hon.Eze Nnaemeka Charles (Nani boi)

Some of the people who have graduated from Mass Communication and have served under student leadership and are very successful in society are being beckoned on, and they are bringing them home to ESUT, so they can come and tell them how they passed this road and got to the place they are today in society.
