Eternal Shares Rally 10% Near Record Highs as Nifty Surges Past 25,000 Axis Bank and Reliance Industries Lead Market Moves

Eternal’s shares surged by 10% in Monday’s trading session, coming close to their record highs amid positive investor sentiment and robust market activity.

This rally contributed to a broader recovery seen in Indian equity markets, with the benchmark NSE Nifty 50 index reclaiming the psychologically significant 25,000 mark, closing at 25,090.70—up by 122.30 points or 0.49%.

The upward momentum was largely driven by strong quarterly earnings reports from major banking players such as Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank.

Axis Bank’s improved operational performance bolstered investor confidence, while ICICI Bank shares climbed 2.39%, closing at ₹1,459.90 following a 15.5% year-on-year profit increase.

HDFC Bank gained 2.09%, supported by better-than-expected earnings and an announcement of a 1:1 bonus issue.

Reliance Industries, meanwhile, presented a mixed picture. Despite reporting a remarkable 78% jump in quarterly profits its shares dropped approximately 2% as segments like oil-to-chemicals and retail underperformed. This divergence underscored ongoing market volatility amid global trade concerns and sector-specific pressures.

Market analysts indicated that the Nifty’s current support zone between 24,900 and 25,000 remains critical for sustaining the rally. Resistance levels at 25,200 to 25,250 are being closely watched with a decisive breakout above these points expected to trigger further bullish momentum.

Broader market gains were led by financial services, automobile and metal sectors while mid- and small-cap stocks displayed mixed performance reflecting selective investor buying.

The BSE Sensex also rose by 442.61 points, closing at 82,200.34, signaling a return of investor confidence after a subdued previous session.

As market participants digest the earnings season and await clearer global cues, cautious optimism persists with calls for strategic stock selections focused on fundamentally strong companies.
