Factional chair, Ezeokenwa assures that Soludo’s re-election will not be affected by APGA crisis.

Sylvester Ezeokenwa, the factional Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), is confident that the internal political crisis that the party is currently facing will not affect the re-election of Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo. Ezeokenwa expressed his optimism during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday.

Ezeokenwa pointed out that previous governors of Anambra State, Willie Obiano and Peter Obi, faced similar crises during their elections but were still successful in their re-election bids.

He emphasized that despite the challenges, APGA emerged victorious in the past and believes that the people of Anambra State have faith in the party and what it has achieved for the state.

The APGA chairman, who assumed office in May 2023 after an elective convention in Awka, Anambra State, acknowledged the controversy surrounding the party’s leadership.

In July, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized Edozie Njoku as the national chair of APGA, citing a court order to support their decision. However, Njoku argues that a convention held in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, appointed him as APGA’s national chairman.

In light of the ongoing crisis, Ezeokenwa remains confident that it will not hinder Governor Soludo’s re-election prospects and reiterates the resilience of APGA in the face of past challenges.
