Families of 50 Fallen Police Officers Receive ₦33.8 Million Support from Kebbi Command
The Kebbi State Police Command has distributed cheques worth ₦33,816,610.97 to the families of 50 police officers who died while serving the nation.
The presentation, held at the command headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, was made by Commissioner of Police Bello Sani under the Group Life Assurance and Inspector-General of Police Family Welfare Schemes.
Sani praised IGP Kayode Egbetokun for his dedication to the welfare of police personnel and their dependents, describing the initiative as a morale booster and a symbol of compassion for bereaved families.
He urged beneficiaries to use the funds wisely to create sustainable support for their families. Representing the recipients, Sonnen Mome expressed deep gratitude to the IGP, noting that the gesture shows the Nigeria Police Force has not forgotten the sacrifices of its fallen heroes.
The welfare schemes form part of ongoing efforts by the police leadership to provide financial relief and ensure continued care for officers’ families.
