Fani-Kayode Praises Tinubu’s Rescue of Kebbi Students, Slams Donald Trump

Former Aviation Minister and APC chieftain, Femi Fani-Kayode (FFK), has praised President Bola Tinubu and Nigeria’s security forces for successfully rescuing 24 female students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, while sharply criticizing US President Donald Trump.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Fani-Kayode congratulated the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies for the operation.

He recalled previous successes, including the release of 33 church worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State, and 50 students from St. Mary’s School in Papiri, Niger State, emphasizing that these victories offer hope while acknowledging that more work remains to combat terrorism.

Fani-Kayode did not hold back in his condemnation of Trump, describing his previous comments about Nigeria as “tactless” and dangerous.

He warned that anyone believing Trump could protect Christians in Nigeria was “uninformed and unintelligent.”

Highlighting the US president’s aggressive rhetoric, Fani-Kayode cited Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, who called Trump a “mad man” and “a petty dictator,” and criticized his moral and strategic disposition.

The APC chieftain urged Nigerians not to rely on foreign powers to solve domestic security issues, warning that misplaced trust in Trump could lead to destruction rather than protection.

He referenced Rev. Dr. Munther Isaac of the Orthodox Church in Bethlehem, saying Palestinians preferred martyrdom over depending on Trump for defense.
