“FANS Student ESUT Chapter Holds Candlelight Procession for Late Sen. Ezea”

The Federation of Nsukka Students (FANS), Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) chapter, and other students on Sunday organised a candle procession as part of their final respect to their deceased parliamentarian, late Senator Okechukwu Ezea.

Speaking after the candlelight procession, which took place at the Agbani campus of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, the FANS President, ESUT chapter, Comr. Ali Emmanuel, said the candlelight is a memorial service to honour the late senator’s life and legacy.

He stated that it is part of their last respect because they wish to keep on respecting him, having served the senatorial zone with utmost dedication.

According to him, it is a way for friends, family, and Nsukka students, ESUT chapter, to come together, share memories, and pay respects. The candlelight symbolises hope, respect, and remembrance of our late hero, Senator Ezea, who has done marvellously well for Nsukka clan.

He emphasised that the death of late Senator Okeehükwu Cleophas Ezea (IDEKE) has left a significant vacuum in the lives of Nsukka students and the broader Enugu North Senatorial Zone.

“His dedication to public service, mentorship, and advocacy had a profound impact on many. His absence will be deeply felt, and his legacy will continue to inspire and motivate those he touched.”

He posited that Senator Ezea didn’t have a direct impact on Nsukka students in ESUT, mainly because there was no chance to interact with him before his demise.

“I believe that our next senator will continue where he stopped, and we must experience direct impact.”
