FCTA Workers Protest in Abuja Over Poor Conditions, Unpaid Salaries and Allowances

Workers under the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) took to the streets in Abuja on Tuesday, protesting what they described as deplorable working conditions, irregular salary payments, and unpaid allowances.

The aggrieved staff lamented the dilapidated state of their offices, describing the environment as unfit for productive work. Some carried placards with inscriptions like “Our Offices Are a Mess” and “We Deserve Better”, drawing public attention to the longstanding neglect of their welfare.

“We can’t continue working in these inhumane conditions while our entitlements remain unpaid,” one protester stated. “Many of us haven’t received full salaries in months, and the working environment is terrible.”

The demonstration disrupted operations at various FCTA departments, as workers demanded urgent government intervention and accountability from those managing administrative resources.

Despite numerous complaints in the past, the protesters claimed their concerns had been ignored, leaving them with no choice but to take action publicly.

As of press time, FCTA authorities have yet to issue an official response.
