FG to Expose Terrorist Sponsors in Nigeria, Government Says

The Nigerian federal government has announced plans to reveal the identities of individuals and networks funding terrorism across the country, marking a major escalation in efforts to combat insecurity.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, disclosed the development during a Sunday interview on Television Continental (TVC).

He stated that the administration is rolling out sweeping national security measures, with Nigerians set to see tangible results soon.

Bwala noted that terrorism has become a transnational threat, transcending borders and demanding urgent international cooperation.

“Post-9/11, the world treats terrorism as a shared threat. Any country harboring terrorists poses risks to everyone,” he said, stressing the importance of regional alliances and global intelligence sharing.

He added that extremist activities, once concentrated in the Middle East, have shifted southward to the Sahel region, making Nigeria a frontline in the fight against insurgency.

Domestically, the government is intensifying efforts to dismantle funding networks and operational bases supporting terror groups. Bwala assured that the process would be transparent.

“In the coming days, we’ll name the terrorists and their backers,” he said.

The move is expected to disrupt the financial support of extremist groups, deter potential collaborators, and strengthen national security, bringing hope for a safer Nigeria.
