Fish Magnet’s Alleged Girlfriend Recounts Final Moments Before His Death.
A woman close to late Nigerian entrepreneur Ifesinachi Onyekere, popularly known as Fish Magnet, has shared a heartbreaking account of their last conversation before his abduction and tragic death.
According to her, Fish Magnet called on Saturday, July 26, and they spoke until 9:00 p.m. Tragically, less than 24 hours later, he was shot and kidnapped in front of his family home.
The kidnappers demanded a ₦10 million ransom, giving the family only 20 minutes to deliver the money.
His mother reportedly managed to gather the money and sent it before midnight. However, the kidnappers did not respond again until 4:00 a.m. Monday, when they instructed the family to pick him up at St. Matthew Catholic Church.
He was found near death and rushed to the hospital, but sadly, he didn’t survive.
In a touching tribute shared on social media, the woman described Fish Magnet as “the most humble man I ever knew”, reminiscing on their shared dreams and how they built his brand MG BodyBang, Fish Magnet, and MG Logistics from scratch without staff or external support.
“You said you wanted to go to Thailand, we talked about it. We built everything from nothing. Now we have workers everywhere… but you’re not here to see it,” she wrote.
She also revealed the emotional and financial struggles they had endured together since 2019, and expressed deep grief at his sudden departure.
“Even if I lose my mind, I will never forget you. You were my silent bullion van.”
Fish Magnet’s car was later discovered in Amobia, and the family alleged that his Moniepoint and access accounts were cleared after the ransom was paid.
