Former ESPOLY SUG President Comr. Ezeahasi Chiagozie Highlights Achievements

The Emeritus Student Union President of Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, Comrade Ezeahasi Chiagozie, laid out his achievements while in office.
During an interview with ESUT Monitor Newspaper. the Emeritus Student Union President and incumbent Enugu State National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Chief Protocol Officer and Deputy Vice chairman council of Students Union Government President (COSPEN) Comrade Ezeahasi Chiagozie revealed some of his notable accomplishments as Student Union Government President in Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo.
He stated that, “My led administration,is to the glory of God, despite the challenges faced during our administration, was able to achieve several milestones that have positively impacted the students of Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo (ESPOLY).”
With the help of the school management, free WiFi was installed on campus, providing students with access to the internet for academic and research purposes. In collaboration with Fr. Mesh, they successfully provided one week of free transportation for students. The administration ensured that ESPOLY students actively competed with other schools in both academics and sports.
The first inter-school football competition was conducted, involving three different institutions. Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo students participated in an inter-track competition, securing second and third place positions. A canteen was built on campus in collaboration with Madam Peace, allowing students to purchase food and essential items conveniently.
Due to the economic hardship in the country, they reduced the SUG dues and Students’ Week fees from ₦3,500 to ₦3,000 to ease the financial burden on students. With the help of Fr. Mesh, they successfully provided one week of free transportation for students.
Despite the economic challenges and fee reductions, they successfully organized a remarkable Students’ Week, which was one of the best in the history of ESPOLY. They organized the first-ever Freshers’ Night, making new students feel welcomed and giving them a sense of belonging.
The union fought for the return of the Matriculation Ceremony, which had not been held for a long time, and successfully ensured it was conducted during their tenure, bringing joy to the students. They ensured that the school bus fare was reasonable and that the bus was always available to transport students.
Students previously complained about delays in result processing due to a lack of facilities. The administration fought for and secured additional computers for the Exams & Records department, as well as other school offices.
They advocated for the immediate issuance of registration numbers upon submission of the required four files, which is now being implemented. The SUG fought for students’ results to be posted on departmental notice boards, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
Financial and Scholarship Support
In partnership with Youths Awakening and Development Initiative, scholarships were awarded to deserving ESPOLY students. In collaboration with successful graduates of Enugu State Polytechnic, Iwollo, three students were granted bursary awards.
Comrade Ezeahasi emphasized that their administration remained committed to improving the student experience at Enugu State polytechnic Iwollo (ESPOLY) , leaving behind a legacy of progress, student empowerment, and institutional development.
He further stated that his source of motivation comes from a deep-seated passion for leadership, service, and the pursuit of positive change. His journey has shaped him, challenged him, and pushed him to go beyond his limits.
