“For Peace to Reign, Drop Yul’s Name” – Esther Nwachukwu Advises May Edochie Amid Family Drama

Nollywood actress Esther Nwachukwu, popularly known as Esther Sky, has publicly urged May Edochie, the estranged first wife of actor Yul Edochie, to stop using his surname. Her statement adds fuel to the ongoing turmoil within the Edochie family, which has played out heavily on social media in recent weeks.

Speaking on the lingering tensions, Esther suggested that May’s continued use of the “Edochie” name may be contributing to the unrest within the family. She advised May to legally revert to her maiden name, emphasizing that the actor’s surname is not essential to her identity or success.

“With all due respect, drop Yul Edochie’s name so that there can be peace,” Esther stated in a video. “You’ve already made a name for yourself. If it’s on your documents, go to court and change it — it’s not that deep.”

This plea follows several events that have escalated the feud, most notably a shocking incident where Yinka Edochie, the wife of Yul’s brother Linc, allegedly leaked May’s personal phone number online. The leak sparked massive public outrage and intensified the already strained relations within the family.

Esther also accused members of the Edochie family of ganging up against May, hinting that they may be supporting Yul’s new partner in private. According to her, the public attacks May has faced — particularly from the new wife — may have been encouraged by private conversations happening behind closed doors.

“All of Yul’s siblings and family members seem to have turned their backs on May. If they weren’t secretly plotting, the new wife wouldn’t be bold enough to attack Queen May online,” she alleged.

Interestingly, Esther is not alone in this opinion. Weeks earlier, controversial relationship coach Blessing CEO also advised May to detach completely from Yul by discarding his surname and embracing a fresh identity, especially after his controversial remarriage.
