Fr. Ejike Mbaka Refutes Claims Linking Him to Idol Worship and Ancestral Saint Remarks

Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, Spiritual Director of the Adoration Ministry Enugu, Nigeria (AMEN), has strongly denied recent viral claims suggesting he described African ancestors as saints or advocated preserving the idols they once worshipped.

In a statement, Fr. Mbaka clarified that the circulating comments are a misrepresentation of his words and do not reflect his beliefs or teachings.

“A few weeks ago, I was speaking about false accusations against our ancestors,” he explained. “I was not saying our ancestors were all saints, neither did I say their idols should be sustained never. I can never promote idolatry. I have only one omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient God.”

He further stressed that his message was aimed at cautioning against overgeneralization and unfounded blame, not endorsing ancestral practices.

“Lord save me, save the Adoration Ministry, save Fr. Mbaka,” he prayed, quoting Isaiah 38:20 and reaffirming his commitment to his faith.

The cleric’s statement comes amid growing online debates sparked by misinterpreted sermons and the rapid spread of misinformation on social media.
