Veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late son, Ifeanyi, marking the first anniversary of his passing.
Ifeanyi, who tragically died on August 7, 2024, just months after turning 15, was remembered in an emotional Instagram post shared by his father today.
“Sweet soul Anyi. It’s one year today you passed unto glory. One year you slipped out of our hands, son… it’s been painful… and still hurts,” Duru wrote.
In the deeply personal message, Duru reflected on the pain of losing his child, acknowledging the lasting void left behind while expressing gratitude for the time they shared.
“No one can fill the void you have left in our lives, hearts… but in all, we give thanks. You brought so much joy, laughter, and light.”
Despite the sorrow, Duru emphasized the grace that has sustained his family through the grief, noting that while they no longer mourn in despair, they continue to cherish his memory.
“Your fond memories… you were a good kid. Adieu… Rest on sweet soul… rest on champ. Loads of love always and forever.”
