Freakier Friday Sequel Starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis Promises Chaotic and Fun Body-Swapping Adventure
The eagerly awaited sequel to the 2003 hit Freaky Friday, titled Freakier Friday is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2025.
The film brings back Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their iconic mother-daughter roles as Anna and Tess Coleman.
This time the story expands with new characters including Anna’s daughter Harper and her soon-to-be stepsister Lily leading to a “double body-swapping” mayhem that blends nostalgia with fresh comedic twists.
Freakier Friday features returning cast members such as Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, and Christina Vidal alongside newcomers like Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Julia Butters.
Directed by Nisha Ganatra with a screenplay by Jordan Weiss the film explores the blending of two families facing new challenges with the hallmark humor and chaos that made the original a beloved classic.
The main actors have actively promoted the film on various shows, building anticipation for its release. Disney plans a theatrical launch in early August 2025 with a likely streaming release on Disney+ a few months later offering fans multiple ways to enjoy the film.
This sequel promises to honor the original’s legacy while introducing a new generation to the fun and confusion of body-swapping adventures.
