Freshers Caught on Camera Begging Lecturer for Re-admission to Class
In a surprising turn of events, fresh undergraduate students at the Federal University of Lafia were recently seen on their knees begging a lecturer to allow them back into the classroom. A photo shared on the university’s Facebook group showed the 100-level students pleading for readmission, sparking mixed reactions online.
Although the exact reason for their punishment remains unclear, many speculate it could be due to disciplinary issues or missing classes. Some netizens suggested that the freshers might be acting out of overzealousness and are still adjusting to university life, while others argued that they have not yet left behind the mentality of secondary school.
Social media users had varied opinions; some found the situation amusing with comments like, “They think they are still in secondary school,” while others believed the students would behave more responsibly as they advance in their academic journey.
One user commented, “By 200 level, the tables would turn, and lecturers might be the ones begging students to attend class.” Meanwhile, another highlighted the strict nature of university regulations, pointing out that attendance policies and lecturer behaviours vary widely across institutions, and students must adapt accordingly.
This incident sheds light on the challenges freshers face in transitioning to higher education and the strict disciplinary measures universities often enforce to maintain academic standards.
