Funke Akindele Claps Back at Troll Over Plastic Bag Criticism
Nollywood superstar and politician Funke Akindele has fired back at a social media troll who mocked her for using a simple plastic bag while handing food to her guests.
The drama began after Akindele shared a Snapchat video showing how she treated members of her crew who visited her home.
In the clip, she packed food items into the popular yellow-and-black plastic bags, a gesture that didn’t sit well with one user.
“Aunty Funke you are not posh at all. Why yellow and black nylon?” the critic wrote.
Unfazed, the actress responded with wit and sarcasm, clapping back at the user.
“Oh maybe I need to go and get plastic bags from Macy’s or Nordstrom.
Elenu shipoti, you can come and buy nylon for me. I already blocked you. It’s a privilege for you to be seeing my snap,” she said.
Akindele, who has faced public scrutiny before, made it clear she won’t let online critics dictate her lifestyle. “At least you can see I am an elderly person, even if I am not old enough to be your mum. Wide mouth,” she added.
Her response has since sparked reactions online, with many praising her for shutting down unnecessary criticism in style.
