Gov. Bago Urges NANS to Champion Patriotism and Responsible Social Media Use among Nigerian students
The Executive Governor of Niger State, His Excellency Mohammed Umaru Bago, has tasked the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) to enlighten students on the responsible use of social media.
He revealed this, During Courtesy by National association of Nigerian students (NANS) in the state Government house,Minna.

He emphasized that the sanctity of the country lies in the hands of Nigerian students, who are mostly youths.
Gov. Bago expressed concern about the rate at which youths use social media to propagate negative issues in Nigeria, urging NANS to reorient students to use social media to promote patriotism and love for the country.
According to him, “One of the tasks I think before you is the continuous reorientation of the students to use social media to be patriotic, to love Nigeria. The President is doing a lot for the next generation of leaders, and I think what we owe him is to be patriotic. we are not asking for too much.”
He encouraged the Association to key into the food security and sovereignty initiatives by establishing student farms and assured them of his continued support to ensure Nigerian students succeed.
The President of NANS, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, the Vice President of External Affairs, Comrade Aneke Kenechukwu, and other executives assured that the Association will promote dialogue rather than confrontation.
Comrade Oladoja said he has already embarked on a sensitization campaign on campuses on the need for Nigerian students to embrace dialogue through effective communication in resolving issues affecting them.
Comrade Oladoja noted that Nigerian students have never had it so good under the administration of President Tinubu, highlighting the federal government’s initiatives, especially the zero-interest student loan, to address the issue of school dropouts based on financial challenges among Nigerian students.
He also appreciated the governor for approving billions of naira for scholarships to students of the state, appointing many youths under his administration, and the infrastructural transformation ongoing across the state.
