Gov Buni Urges New Emir of Gudi to Promote Peace, Unity, and Development
Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has called on the newly appointed Emir of Gudi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka, to be a steadfast promoter of peace, unity, and progress within his emirate, across Yobe State, and the nation at large.
The charge was delivered during a brief but symbolic ceremony where the new Emir was formally presented with his letter of appointment. The presentation was made on behalf of the governor by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Muhammad Bello Kawuwa.
Conveying the governor’s message, Prof. Kawuwa emphasized the vital role of traditional rulers in advancing community development, maintaining peace, resolving disputes, and safeguarding cultural values. He urged the Emir to perform these duties with integrity, justice, and the fear of God.
Present at the ceremony were top government officials including the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Wakil; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ibrahim Jajere; and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Saleh Samanja.
Also in attendance were prominent royal figures such as the Emir of Fika and Chairman of the Yobe State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Highness Dr. Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa, as well as the Emirs of Fune and Shelleng.
In his remarks, the newly appointed Emir, who previously served as a member of the House of Representatives, expressed gratitude to Governor Buni for the confidence placed in him. He pledged to serve with honesty and commitment, prioritizing the welfare and unity of his people.
Alhaji Ismaila Ahmed Gadaka succeeds the late Emir, Alhaji Isa Bunuwa Madugu Ibn Khaji, who passed away last Thursday.
