Governor Fubara Sees Current Rivers Crisis as Divine Path for State’s Transformation
In a recent address, Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara characterized the political difficulties facing his administration as part of a divine plan leading to a “new direction” for the state’s governance and economic development.
At a Special Thanksgiving Service honoring His Royal Majesty, Eze Chike Worlu Wodo, who was appointed Chairman of the Rivers State Traditional Rulers’ Council, Governor Fubara stated that despite the challenges, his government is committed to fostering growth and change in Rivers State.
The event took place at the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s Shepard’s Hill Parish in Obio/Akpor, where the governor received copies of the Holy Bible from church officials. Fubara emphasized the role of divine guidance in reinforcing his administration’s mission, stating, “What some may see as trouble, I perceive as God’s purpose for our State’s new direction.”
He further explained that rather than feeling weakened, these challenges have emboldened his administration. “We aspire to complete our tasks, and our legacy will reflect our leadership guided by the fear of God,” he noted.
Highlighting the value of gratitude, Fubara articulated that thanksgiving promotes clarity and a sense of God’s presence during uncertain times. He also donated N100 million to support the church’s evangelical efforts as a tribute to Eze Wodo, asserting his belief in the power of prayer alongside a commitment to uphold God’s principles in governance.
In gratitude, Eze Wodo acknowledged divine guidance throughout his life’s journey and expressed appreciation for Fubara’s leadership and commitment to the people of Rivers State, commending his impactful governance.
