“Governor Mbah is the Only Political Party We Know,” says Enugu West PGs

The President Generals in Enugu West Senatorial District, under the aegis of the Council of Enugu State President Generals, Enugu West Senatorial District, have expressed their total support for the Enugu State leadership of Barr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, amidst rumours of his defection to another political party, saying that he is the only political party that they know.

The group made this known on Monday through a statement signed by their Coordinator and Spokesperson, Hon. Chief Ejike Tasie Iloh (Ọzọ Iheanaeboagu la Achi), on behalf of the five LGA Coordinators—Chief Collins Okelue (Awgu), Chief Ani Pius (Aninri), Chief Chiaha Chinedu (Ezeagu), Ọzọ Ejike Ilo-Tasie (Oji River), and Chief Albe Obinwanne (Udi).

According to them, their support for Governor Mbah is not tied to the platform he belongs to but to his person, performance, and the kind of leadership he represents.

They described him as the only leader who has reached the grassroots, restored dignity to traditional institutions, and redefined governance in ways that previous administrations couldn’t achieve.

They maintained that the people of Enugu West are not moved by the colour or name of a political party but by the leader who delivers. To them, Governor Mbah remains the face of good governance and hope across the communities in Enugu West Senatorial District.

The PGs in Enugu West Senatorial District, however, urged all sons and daughters of the zone to throw their full weight behind the Governor, not just in words but in action, as a way of preparing the ground for a smooth transition of power to the zone come 2031, after his tenure.

We, the Council of Enugu State Presidents-General, Enugu West Senatorial Zone Chapter, through the five LGA Coordinators representing Awgu, Aninri, Ezeagu, Oji River, and Udi, wish to openly express our full support for His Excellency, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah. As community leaders and grassroots representatives, we have seen how he has touched lives in every corner of the state with his leadership style, people-centred policies, and developmental focus.

We have heard the news making the rounds about His Excellency possibly leaving his Peoples Democratic party Pdp and moving to another party. While many are reacting with surprise, we want to state clearly that our support for Governor Mbah is not based on any political party. It is based on his personality, performance, and the peace he has brought to Enugu State.

Governor Mbah is the only political leader we recognize at this point. He has given hope to the rural areas and respect to the traditional and community institutions. Whether he stays in his current party or moves to another, we are not confused. Wherever he goes, we go with him. He is not just a governor to us — he is our own.

We are speaking on behalf of all the Presidents-General from Enugu West Senatorial Zone, and we do so with one voice. The people in our various communities are not interested in party colour; they are interested in leadership that delivers. That is what Governor Mbah represents.

We are fully behind our Governor to continue with his good works which has surpassed his previous predecessors and have positively impacted lifes. We are anticipating that after his tenure, he will handover to one of our great sons or daughters from Enugu West Senatorial District, come 2031. We also call on all the good people of Enugu West Senatorial District, to support his Excellency with our full chest so as to get the support in return after his 8 years of fruitful service to our dear state
