Governor Obaseki: Edo State Civil Servants Will Suffer If Ighodalo Loses.

Edo State’s outgoing Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has issued a warning to civil servants that they will be the first to suffer if his preferred candidate, Asue Ighodalo, doesn’t win the upcoming governorship election this Saturday.

Obaseki emphasized that Ighodalo’s victory is crucial for the state’s democracy and development, stating that allowing uneducated and inexperienced leaders to take power would be a significant risk.

During a thank-you meeting with public servants, Obaseki expressed gratitude for their support and urged them to vote for Ighodalo. He highlighted the progress made during his tenure, citing the state’s technology-driven operations, which he claims are unparalleled in Nigeria.

Ighodalo, the PDP candidate, pledged to continue Obaseki’s work, prioritizing the civil servants and building upon existing foundations. He emphasized the importance of wise leadership, warning that electing the wrong person would lead to retrogression and economic crisis.

In related news, Ighodalo has given conditions for signing the peace accord ahead of the election, while the PDP has refused to sign the Governorship Peace Accord unless certain conditions are met . The election is set to take place on September 21, 2024.
