Hisbah Raids Hotel in Kano, Arrests 26 Over Alleged Immoral Acts

The Islamic police in Kano, known as Hisbah, have arrested 26 women during a raid at a hotel in the Kano metropolis over alleged involvement in immoral activities.

The operation was carried out on Saturday following public complaints about suspected unlawful acts taking place at the facility.

Confirming the incident on Monday, the Deputy Commander General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Dr Mujahid Aminuddeen, said the raid was conducted with support from military authorities.

“We want to use this opportunity to appreciate the military authorities and their commanders for the cooperation they gave us to conduct the operation successfully,” he said.

Aminuddeen further stated that many of the suspects were found intoxicated, and several cartons of assorted alcoholic beverages were seized during the raid.

He called on residents to continue reporting similar incidents to the Hisbah office, whether in hotels or residential areas, to enable timely intervention.

He also emphasized that the agency would continue its crackdown on activities deemed immoral, as part of its broader mission to enforce public morality and Islamic values in the state.
