……………. As APC targets more than 10,000 members in Isienu – Amagunze /Akpawfu ward

The member representing Nkanu East Constituency, Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Okechukwu Anthony Mbah, has called on the good people of Nkanu East and Enugu State at large to utilise the opportunity presented by the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the ongoing membership registration and revalidation to enlist in the party and demonstrate their continued support for Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah.

Hon. Mbah made the call on Friday during the flag-off ceremony of the APC e-registration exercise for Isienu–Amagunze/Akpawfu Ward, held at the Eke Obodo Uvuru Centre.

He stated that Governor Mbah, who has continued to perform well across major sectors of the state, needs the support of the people of Nkanu East and Enugu State to help the party achieve its target of two million registered members in the state.

The lawmaker said that Isienu–Amagunze/Akpawfu Ward has benefited greatly from the governor’s style of governance. According to him, projects completed in the ward include smart schools at Ejema Akpawfu and Isienu–Amagunze, a Type II Primary Healthcare Centre, the Akpawfu–Amagunze Road, the Amechi Idodo–Amagunze Road, and the Atavu Onu Eke–Ihuokpara Road. He added that other roads yet to be awarded include the Iji–Agu Uwani Road, Eke Imezhi Osu Road, and the Akpawfu–Obodo Agu Amagunze Road.

Hon. Mbah further said the ward has the capacity to register over 10,000 members, noting that this would further show its strength within Nkanu East Local Government Area. He added that all stakeholders in the ward are working together to make the APC widely accepted in the constituency.

According to him,

““What we are witnessing today is not by chance. The people are responding because they can see projects and feel the impact of governance. Our roads, schools, and health facilities speak for themselves. This ward has the strength, the population, and the political awareness to deliver over 10,000 members. When people see leadership that works, support comes naturally. APC is no longer a stranger here; it is becoming the party of choice. Together, as leaders and followers, we will mobilise, organise, and ensure that every eligible person is captured in this registration exercise.”

“People are happy because they can see real projects around them. When roads are built, schools improved, and health centres provided, people naturally support such leadership. This ward has the population and the structure to register over 10,000 members. APC is growing fast here because the people believe in what the government is doing. With unity among stakeholders, we will continue to mobilise our people and ensure everyone joins the party. “

In his address, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Hon. Frank Anioma, explained that the decision of the party’s leadership to align with the centre was taken in the best interest of Enugu State and its people.

He stated that, the move would open more opportunities for the state, especially in attracting federal presence, projects, and support.

According to him, states that work closely with the federal government often benefit more in terms of infrastructure, funding, and policy support.

Hon. Anioma described Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah as a leader who understands governance and politics, adding that his leadership has helped to strengthen the party and attract new members across the state.

He also praised the APC leadership in Isienu–Amagunze/Akpawfu Ward, led by Hon. Okey Nnamchi, for their organisation and commitment to party growth, while also commending the registration agents, Obinna Ogbodo and Onyedika Nnaji, for their efforts, noting that the ward made history by hosting the first ward-level e-registration flag-off in Nkanu East.

Hon Anioma however, urged party members to continue mobilising others at the grassroots, stressing that a strong party begins from the ward level.

He also assured members that their participation and support would lead to a stronger APC and better representation for the people.
