Hon. Pius Ezeugwu Commends Local Government Elections in Nsukka
The member representing Nsukka East constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, Hon. Pius Ezeugwu, has praised the local government elections held in Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Speaking with journalists at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Opi, after the counting of the votes, Hon. Ezeugwu expressed his satisfaction with the election process, noting that it was free, fair, and credible.
“I am impressed with how the people turned out to vote and the peaceful conduct we witnessed throughout the process,” Hon. Ezeugwu stated.
He also commended the Enugu State Independent Electoral Commission (ENSIEC) for organizing a well-structured election.
“The professionalism displayed by ENSIEC is commendable. They have proven their ability to manage a transparent electoral process,” he added.
Hon. Ezeugwu further lauded Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his support in ensuring the elections were conducted smoothly.
“The role Governor Mbah played in creating an enabling environment for a successful election cannot be overlooked. His administration’s commitment to democracy is evident in how these elections were handled,” he said. “A lot of people are seeing his good works and want them replicated at the grassroots level.”
Hon. Ezeugwu expressed confidence in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Engr. Jude Asogwa Chinedu, stating that he believes the candidate will emerge victorious.
“I have no doubt that Engr. Chinedu will win. The people trust his leadership, and today’s turnout speaks volumes about his acceptance,” he concluded.
