‘I cry myself to sleep’ – Chidimma Adetshina reveals

A Nigerian-South African beauty queen, Chidimma Adetshina, recently shared the personal struggles she faced on her journey in the world of pageantry. She discussed the challenges of dealing with identity issues related to her dual citizenship during an interview on the Big Friday Show hosted by Tacha from Big Brother Naija.

When asked about her decision to fully commit to a career in pageantry, Chidimma spoke about her aspiration to compete for the prestigious title of Miss Universe.

She mentioned that this dream had been with her since 2017 and expressed gratitude for the platform and opportunity to pursue it.

Chidimma also talked about how she coped with the identity crisis she experienced, describing it as a difficult and emotional journey.

She admitted to struggling at times, feeling overwhelmed, and questioning why she was facing such challenges. However, she emphasized that she eventually shifted her perspective to focus on the potential for growth and greatness that could arise from these difficulties.

Following her withdrawal from the Miss South Africa pageant due to allegations involving her mother with the South African Home Office, Chidimma faced backlash in South Africa during the announcement of her participation in the competition.

Subsequently, she was offered an opportunity to join the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant by the Silverbird Group, which she accepted.
