“I Earn ₦700k Per Show, Not Impersonating Flavour N’abania” — Fake Flavour Sets the Record Straight
A Nigerian performer popularly known as “Fake Flavour” has spoken out to debunk allegations that he impersonates highlife superstar Flavour N’abania to deceive unsuspecting fans or event organizers.
In a recent interview, the look-alike clarified that his resemblance and stage name are not part of any scam but rather a tribute to an artist he deeply admires.
According to him, he earns between ₦700,000 and ₦800,000 per show, emphasizing that the real Flavour would never charge such a small amount for a performance — a clear indication that he isn’t pretending to be the original musician for financial gain.
“I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people; I just love him. I get paid ₦700k–₦800k for a show, and Flavour would never perform for that amount,” he stated.
The entertainer expressed great respect for Flavour N’abania, noting that he only draws inspiration from the singer’s music, energy, and fashion sense.
However, social media users have shared mixed reactions to his claims. While some praised his honesty and passion, others argued that his identical appearance and name could still confuse fans or promoters.
One viral tweet read:
“Please, I’m not using Flavour’s name to scam people, I just love Flavour. I get paid ₦700,000 to ₦900,000 per show — that’s too small for the real Flavour,” Fake Flavour cried out. 😂
The story has since gained traction online, sparking conversations about celebrity impersonation, fan culture, and the blurry line between admiration and imitation in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
