“I have always begged for parental love”– Phyna

Phyna, the winner of Big Brother Naija season 7, also known as Ijeoma Josephina Otabor, recently shared her emotional experience of seeking affection from her parents during her upbringing.

In an interview that went viral, Phyna’s father, Felix Otabor, accused her of abandoning him after she won the N100 million BBNaija prize in 2022.

“He claimed that she disappeared into thin air as soon as she received the prize money and never returned home to support the family financially,” he stated.

Deeply affected by her father’s words, Phyna took to her Snapchat story on Saturday night to reflect on her challenging childhood, wherein she had to constantly plead for love from her parents.

“Growing up I always hear you are not my daughter. Yet I would beg for parental love. The truth is I have always begged people to love me. Today I have finally accepted it. No wonder, I for say. Guess I’m an ORPHAN”, she wrote.
