Igbo-Etiti Tech-Hub: Dust In Crowd As Nwodo Launches Technology Training Center; Tech-Hub
…. Says he wants to put Igboetiti into the map of tech savvy LGA’S in the world.
The Executive Chairman of Igbo-Etiti LG, Hon. Ikenna Nwodo has launched a digital skill training for the Youths/Students of Igbo- Etiti in Enugu State Nigeria. The digital center is part of the Chairman’s Campaign promises and the idea of establishing computer business aimed at subsidizing Information’, communication and technological needs of the Local Government which shall benefit Students, the Staff, residents and visitors.
Speaking on the significance of this digital skill training on Tuesday , Hon Nwodo stated that the managerial team cum resource persons for the training are working relentlessly to partner with Facebook, Google, Microsoft and it’s likes to take the project to a higher level, not limited to training the students and equipping them with the requisite knowledge in basic computer programmes like, Microsoft Suit, Graphic Design Using Figmla & Canva , Programming, Basic Troubleshoot, Coding, web Design, prompt Engineering (How to ask and use Al to solve problems) including other benefits, such as Free CV Writing, & Review, Free Tips on how to succeed in job Interviews , Introduction to Remote job opportunities etc.
The Chairman assured the students that they will not only get the training but would be plugged into getting jobs for survival after the training.
In furtherance, Omenuko briefed how his government has installed a daily functional WiFi network in Igbo-Etiti local government for the Students use amidst their training as well as the general use by the entire people of Igbo-Etiti Local government.
According to him “The digital center will partner with Geniex and other network signal to ensure that there would be a steady internet network”, Said by the Council Chairman who also made provisions for standby generators, projectors and so on, Ikenna said.
Omenuko added that, “The plan is to be in the world of online market and also, own businesses, currency exchange market, and human resource management team that will expand and center the economy development and growth in Igbo-etiti. I believe, within 3 to 4 years to come, Igbo Etiti will venture into it’s first export” Ikenna Nwodo.
According to reports, , this Digital skill training embarked upon by Hon Ikenna Nwodo, replicates the technological determinism theory of social change postulations by Marshall Mc Luhan in 1908 that invention of technology in a society determines the behavior of such particular society. The society indeed is focused on ICT, thereby conscientizig the youths of Nigeria at large to be up and doing in digitization at the center of training, Tech-Hub.
The supervisor for education, Comrade Ogbonna Ogbaji, in his presentation acquainted the students on the importance of the training and charged them to key in as well as be part of the program fully.
In other notes, Comrade Bonaventure Ekene Akubue, The supervisor for youth and sports emphatically stated that the digital skill training center is a legacy from the able project master that will continue beyond his regime. He implored the chairman for adopting the training in alignment to the general Bible quote: “teach me how to fish than giving me fish”, During his speech, he expressed gratitude and maintained that the training will pave greater ways to beneficiaries than giving them instant money.
Another Speaker, Rt. Hon. Valentine Atunya, leader of the legislative council, begged the students to take the training seriously. Mr. Atunya commended the student’s sense of participation for the training and also applauds the workaholic Chairman on his continued innovative sense, always determined to ensure that Igbo-Etiti is at the top.
One of the Students by name, Anikwe Ifesinachi while appreciating the LG Chairman also pleaded with the chairman that it would be good to get them laptops for home practice after the hub training.
In their remarks, some of the beneficiaries said, The Local Government Chairman, through his innovation, have challenged the myth that mediocrity is the bone of leadership and confirmed that those who truly wish to serve, will always do so succinctly.
Also speaking with NEWSMEN, the President of Igbo-Etiti/ Uzo-Uwani Constituency Youth Assembly, Comrade ACJ Favour Amuka described Hon Nwodo as “Oji Project eme ogo, whose sheer energy of determination, vision, capacity and doggedness has driven your administration and remarkably set it apart and above the rest has set a standard that will stand as a memento in the Youths and students Igboetiti “.
