“I’m Tired of Tinubu’s Leadership” – Amaechi Laments Soaring Cost of Living, Says Nigerians Deserve Better

Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has openly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, expressing deep frustration over the worsening economic crisis in Nigeria.

During a gathering in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Amaechi addressed a cheering crowd of supporters as he made a strong case against the current government, declaring that he, like many Nigerians, is exhausted by the hardship.

Amaechi, who has now aligned with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), spoke passionately about the unbearable cost of living, revealing that even wealthy Nigerians now spend as much as ₦4 million monthly just to buy fuel.

He wondered how average citizens were surviving in such an economy. “If you are not tired of President Tinubu, I am tired. If you are not hungry, I am hungry,” he said, highlighting how food prices, fuel costs, and daily living expenses have skyrocketed since Tinubu assumed office.

The former governor of Rivers State didn’t hold back as he blamed Tinubu’s policies for deepening poverty and suffering across the nation.

He also took a swipe at Tinubu’s controversial remarks where the president reportedly stated that he was not in office to make Nigerians happy. In contrast, Amaechi promised that the ADC was prepared to bring hope, stability, and relief to Nigerians. “The ADC is here to make you happy,” he affirmed, rallying support for alternative leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.
