Indian Police Arrest Three Nigerians in Major Drug Bust
Indian authorities have arrested three Nigerian nationals linked to a synthetic drug manufacturing operation in Gurugram, Haryana.
The arrests followed a February 2025 seizure in Kozhikode, Kerala, where 778 grams of MDMA were recovered near the railway station.
Investigations traced the supply chain from a local suspect, Siraj, to the Nigerians Henry Onuchukwu, John alias David, and Okolie Romanus using phone and bank records along with mobile tower data.
Acting on intelligence from Kozhikode police, Haryana authorities raided an industrial estate, uncovering 900 grams of cocaine, 2.3 kg of unprocessed cocaine, 1.6 kg of sulfonamides, and 43 mobile phones, with the haul valued at roughly ₹1 crore.
Police noted that apart from Romanus, the other Nigerians lacked valid visas or legal documents to remain in India.
The operation, led by Inspector Jithesh of Kozhikode town police, involved extensive investigations across Haryana, Delhi, and Himachal Pradesh, resulting in the arrests and dismantling of the drug network.
