Isaac Fayose Vows to Raise $2 Billion in 6 Months If Elected Lagos Governor
Political commentator Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has declared that he could generate $2 billion (USD) within six months if elected as Governor of Lagos State.
Speaking during an appearance on the popular Honest Bunch podcast, Fayose unveiled an ambitious plan to transform Lagos into Africa’s premier technology and entertainment hub, citing international partnerships, digital innovation, and infrastructure development as key strategies.
“If I’m Lagos State Governor, I can generate $2 billion in six months,” Fayose claimed confidently. “How? I will create a Music City between Ikate and Ilashe. You can only access it by boat. It would be an artist city a hall of fame to celebrate creatives, build apartments, and attract global players like Google and Netflix.”
He further explained his plan to convert Nigeria’s struggling Yahoo Yahoo youth into productive tech entrepreneurs, stating that many young Nigerians have untapped digital skills that can be redirected into legitimate innovation.
“From Yahoo to tech it’s so easy now. You bring in the platforms, give them the tools, and they’ll transform.”
Fayose also criticized the current financial system, lamenting the inaccessibility of capital for everyday Nigerians.
“You go to a bank, and they ask you to bring your mother’s DNA and your father’s ghost. If you don’t have collateral, you can’t get money even when the country is sitting on trillions, and the people are poor.”
The remarks sparked both controversy and curiosity online, with critics questioning the feasibility of his projections, while others praised his bold vision for youth empowerment and creative economy development.
While Fayose has not formally declared his candidacy, his comments have ignited speculation about a possible 2027 gubernatorial bid.
