Jigan Fires Back at Verydarkman Over Group Chat Allegations: “I Owe You No Explanation”

Nollywood actor Jigan Baba Oja has strongly denied allegations linking him to a secret WhatsApp group accused of sabotaging justice for the late singer Mohbad. The accusations were made by controversial social media critic, Verydarkman, who claimed that actress Iyabo Ojo leads the group and that Jigan is among the celebrities allegedly involved.

Verydarkman had challenged the group members to publicly release their chat history, suggesting the group was set up to derail public outrage over Mohbad’s death. The claims quickly went viral, sparking backlash and demands for clarification from those named.

In response, Jigan took to TikTok live to express his displeasure and dismissed the pressure to prove anything. “If you like, listen to my explanation, so fine. Do I even owe you an explanation? No! As long as my conscience is so pure; that’s what matters,” he said, visibly frustrated.

He later posted a cryptic message on Instagram, seemingly addressing Verydarkman without naming him directly:
“So fast Nigerians ain’t asking for the evidences no more! Something you paid 20m to achieve and you can’t post it no longer! Are we still in the slavery era? Na leg dey pain me not my brain! We shall see to the end of this! Thank you Allah, Olujo Mimo!”

The post reignited the online debate, with fans divided over the validity of Verydarkman’s accusations and the silence of some celebrities involved. While Jigan has remained firm in his denial, he has not confirmed or denied his membership in any such group.

As the controversy unfolds, the public continues to demand clarity and justice in the ongoing saga surrounding Mohbad’s death, with many calling for transparency from all parties involved.
