Kano Governor Yusuf Prioritizes First-Term Mandate Over Re-Election Pressure

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has reaffirmed his commitment to delivering effective governance, dismissing concerns about political pressure or the 2027 elections. In a statement, Yusuf emphasized that his primary focus is on fulfilling the mandate given to him in his first term, rather than worrying about re-election.

The Governor criticized attempts by opposition figures to create political unrest in Kano, highlighting the resilience of his New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in achieving sweeping victories in 2019 and 2023. Yusuf also warned the APC leadership in Kano against using inflammatory language, urging them to avoid scaring voters ahead of the next elections.
