A resident of Katampe, Abuja, Sani Yusuf, has recounted his terrifying experience during the armed robbery that tragically claimed the life of Arise TV News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu.

Yusuf, who lives in the same block where the incident occurred, revealed that he was the first victim of the attackers.

Describing the ordeal on X (formerly Twitter), Yusuf said, “This happened at the block I live in. I was the first victim to be attacked. Right in the heart of Abuja, man.

I don’t wish anyone the things I witnessed. When I’m ready, I’ll share details. For now, may the souls of the departed find peace.”

The early morning robbery has sent shockwaves across the media industry and the nation, with tributes pouring in from colleagues, friends, and viewers mourning the loss of the young journalist.

Authorities have confirmed that the Nigeria Police are investigating the attack and are actively working to apprehend the perpetrators, while also enhancing security measures in the Katampe area.
