Katsina Governor Dikko Radda Discharged and Declared Fit After Highway Accident

Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, has been discharged from the hospital and declared fit to resume full official duties following a minor road accident along the Daura–Katsina highway on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

The state government confirmed that the governor sustained no serious injuries and remains in good health and high spirits.

According to a statement from the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Governor Radda was undergoing medical observation as a precaution but has since been cleared by medical experts to return to work without restrictions.

The governor expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for protection and thanked Katsina residents friends, and well-wishers nationwide for their prayers and support during the brief hospitalization.

The accident occurred while Governor Radda was on official duty returning from Daura where he had been receiving dignitaries offering condolences on the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The state government described the crash as minor involving a collision with a private vehicle that resulted in injuries to nine other passengers all of whom are receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre in Daura with medical expenses covered by the state.

Governor Radda reaffirmed his commitment to delivering on his administration’s Building Your Future agenda aiming for the development and prosperity of Katsina State.
