King Charles Hosts Ukraine’s Zelensky for Strategic Lunch at Windsor Ahead of NATO Summit
In a significant diplomatic gesture, King Charles III welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for a private lunch at Windsor Castle today.
The visit comes as Zelensky touches down in London ahead of the NATO summit in The Hague, where he’s expected to rally stronger international backing amid Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia.
According to Buckingham Palace, the meeting was more than ceremonial Zelensky is pushing to deepen defence cooperation with key allies like the UK, which has remained one of Ukraine’s strongest supporters since Russia’s 2022 invasion.
During his UK trip, Zelensky will also meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer and visit Ukrainian troops undergoing military training in Britain.
The Ukrainian leader’s visit underscores growing urgency as tensions rise in Eastern Europe. Talks with Russia remain strained, and Ukraine is counting on the West for continued support and strategic alignment.
