Kwara Church Resumes Service After Deadly Attack, Honors Victims as Martyrs

The Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State held Sunday service just days after a deadly attack left two worshippers dead and 38 others abducted.

Video footage circulating online showed congregants sitting calmly as the pastor delivered a sermon emphasizing courage, faith, and trust in God despite the recent violence.

The pastor reminded members that eternal life awaits those who remain faithful:

“I’m going to prepare a place for you, and I will come back so you can join me. Wherever or whenever death comes, do not deny Jesus. His promise is for you if you remain faithful.”

He also assured the congregation that perpetrators of the attack will face divine justice:

“Those responsible will receive God’s judgment. His patience allows us all time to repent, and this may be what is delaying the second coming of Jesus.”

The pastor described the two deceased worshippers as martyrs, highlighting the spiritual significance of their deaths:

“Those killed for the Gospel are martyrs. Their blood will cry out for justice, and vengeance will follow.”
