Lady Who Dropped Out of FUTA in 400 Level Finally Graduates from Lead City University, Celebrates NYSC Call-Up

A young Nigerian lady has captured hearts across social media after sharing her emotional journey from dropping out of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) in her final year to finally graduating from Lead City University and receiving her National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) call-up letter.

Identified on X (formerly Twitter) as @ayomie, she revealed that she made the difficult decision to leave FUTA in her 400-level second semester after struggling with exhaustion and losing motivation.

According to her, the turning point came in 2017 when she stumbled upon a viral tweet by politician and entrepreneur Oloye Akin Alabi, which read:

“You are 30 so don’t want to go for a 5-year course because when you finish you will be 35. Whether you go back or not, you will be 35 in 5 years.”

She said that message inspired her to take control of her life. That same day, she made the bold decision to quit FUTA and start over at Lead City University, despite the uncertainty ahead.

Years later, her courage paid off. Sharing her joy online, she wrote:

“I was exhausted, tired of everything. Then one Thursday, I saw this tweet on WhatsApp. Something in me shifted. That same day, I made the hardest choice. I left FUTA in 400L, second semester, to start all over again at Lead City. Today, I’m a graduate. Serving my country with joy.”

Her post has gone viral, inspiring many Nigerians who commended her perseverance and willingness to start afresh despite setbacks. Many users described her story as “proof that delay is not denial” and a reminder that “it’s never too late to begin again.”
