The Lagos State Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun, praised the students, describing them as exemplary. He cited the recent educational trip to Singapore by Lagos public school students as evidence of the state’s rising educational standards.

Officials present, including the Head of Service and various Tutors-General/Permanent Secretaries, emphasised the importance of resilience, sportsmanship, and intellectual preparation. Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, Director of Private Education and Special Programmes, OEQA, and Chairman of the Planning Committee, noted that the Spelling Bee is not merely a contest of words but a testament to discipline, focus, and preparation.

After her victory, Etiyeyemonu Esther expressed that her achievement was both personal and motivational, particularly for inspiring other students, especially young girls, to pursue excellence. “Winning this competition shows that hard work truly pays off. I hope my success encourages others to aim high and never give up on their dreams,” she said.
