LASG Empowers 1,700 Women with Working Tools Under Micro Enterprise Support Initiative
The Lagos State Government has distributed working tools to 1,700 women across the state as part of its Micro Enterprise Support Initiative (MESI), aimed at empowering women and removing barriers to economic success.
The distribution event, held at the Blue Roof, Alausa, Ikeja, saw recipients receive equipment such as sewing machines, hairdressing kits, fabricating machines and agricultural tools among others.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu represented by his wife Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a nurturing environment where women can thrive, protect their rights, and attain economic independence.
“Empowering women empowers entire families and communities,” the governor noted. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bolaji Cecilia-Dada urged beneficiaries to utilize the tools responsibly and invest wisely in their ventures, highlighting the transformative impact of the initiative on Lagos communities.
This program reflects the ongoing drive by LASG to foster inclusive growth through entrepreneurship, equipping women with necessary resources to boost livelihoods and support sustainable development.
